A “video and board game bar” just opened on Bishop – Kenoh Bar
Last month, Kenoh Bar, a video and board game bar where you can bring your own food has opened its doors downtown Montreal. Located at 1431b Bishop Street, it’s one of the first and only Montreal bars where you are allowed to bring your own food while sipping on a beer and play video and board games ( they have a choice of 8 beers on tap in addition to summer themed cocktails and boozy bubble teas ).
As of now, the bar is only open from 1pm to 1am but the owner, Alain Jin-Sung Veillette, who everyone calls Jin, is planning on staying open until 3am later this year.
«When we opened, I wanted to give the feeling that you are in a ocean city kind of vibe bar. Kenoh is very laid back, featuring bright colours and the jukebox allows you to choose your vibe. Most importantly we want it to be a fun place. We are going to stream different types of esports and sports on our numerous TVs, we also have several Wii consoles on site and guests can also bring their own console. We have an ever growing amount of board games with plans for having several awesome events throughout the week including a comedy night and much more to come. It’s going to be very exciting», explains the passionate owner.
From over 100 boards games and video games to choose from
At Kenoh Bar, you can play board games that range from regular playing cards to Settlers of Catan and from Nintendo Wii and classic Nintendo games.More concentrated towards esports, modern video games and board games. Kenoh Bar is a place where different video game communities can do their meetups, organize different activities like board game night or just come in for a drink.
“It’s a video game bar or, if you prefer, a bar in general without feeling like you are in a dungeon of some sort. This is what Kenoh is about. A chill summer themed place where you can come with friends and enjoy awesome boozy bubble tea or beer while playing games with other people who share the same interests.”
