Projection of the Movie “Lady Bird”
Movie – Have you been aching to keep busy and not just stay in your apartment during these frightful temperatures ? A good way to get out of your space and still be warm is to go to the movies. There are a few excellent movies that have recently come out, including “Lady Bird”, written and directed by Greta Gerwig. It was released last November, and has already been a hit amongst many. It is currently in cinemas throughout Montreal, however have found a good deal for you…
“Lady Bird” is a dramatic comedy, starring Saoirse Ronan, Lucas Hedges and the rising star, Timothée Chalamet. It tells the story of a quirky teenager, Christine McPherson, who goes by the name of “Lady Bird”. She is in the middle of her final year in a catholic high school in Sacramento. Tired of her life in a popular California suburb, she fantasises about studying at a college on the East Coast, but her modest origins compel her to persuade her parents, especially her mother, with whom she is in permanent conflict. The film depicts a coming of age story and one of finding love, being rejected and appreciating what you have.
“Lady Bird” will be playing at the cinema on the University of Montreal Campus on February 20th (4:45 pm, 7:15 pm and 9:30 pm) and on February 21st (4:45 pm, 7:15 pm and 9:30 pm). Entrance fees for students with a valid student ID will only be 4$ (tax included), and for the general public it will be 5$ (tax included).
