Station F-MR: Montreal’s New 1960s Inspired Urban Park
Montreal – Just in time for Summer, Montreal unveils its new 1960s inspired green space. Organised by the non-profit organisation, MR-63, they are giving old STM metro cars a new look and a second life. The Station F-MR park is an ephemeral public space dedicated to make Montrealers discover local talents. The urban park opened in May and will run until September. It is situated near the Canal-de-Lachine, guaranteeing you breathe-taking views each time you go there. There will be four old STM metro cars completely restored into works of art.
Station F-MR will be offering many different activities throughout the summer, including art exhibitions, film projections, creative workshops, concerts and small markets selling local products. Many of these activities will be held inside of the restored STM cars, and one of them will even be restored into a café so that you won’t have to leave the site to find good coffee and delicious food.
