French President in Montreal & Quebec for the G7
Politics – French President, Emmanuel Macron, and his wife, Brigitte Macron, landed in Ottawa yesterday ahead of the G7 Summit taking place in Quebec today. The G7 will be discussing various issues, including disagreements and agreements on trade, tariffs and Canadian exports. After meetings with Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, the Macrons boarded a plane to Montreal to meet the new mayor, Valérie Plante. President Emmanuel Macron also met up with Mr Couillard. Couillard announced that he will “be very very happy to be – in the name of all Quebecers – in Montreal today to greet [Macron] and also have a very important conversation with him on many, many accounts.” After official meetings, Macron attended a private reception to meet with French nationals who have immigrated to Canada.
