Montreal Casino hosts WCA
Montreal Casino hosts WCA – The glamorous den of iniquity known as the Montreal casino entertained people looking for a break from the slot machines and card tables with a thunderous evening of kickboxing, courtesy of the WCA. By the time the dust had settled, there had been eight fights in just under three hours of non-stop action. Several ending in brutal knockouts.
Samuel Bunch laid heavy hands on Simon Lefebvre, resulting in the fastest knockout in the promotions history. Bunch needed just fifteen seconds to earn the win, and was also honored by being promoted to black belt at the center of the ring. The following contest ended with Jonathan Doucet knocking out Mathieu Langlais in forty five seconds. Most impressive though, was Joshua Chang putting Pat Arseneau to sleep on his feet with a solid punch to the chin, folding him backwards into the ropes.
David Dao and Marc Beaulieu took turns knocking each other to the canvas in what was a closely contested scrap. Dao struck first, dropping Beaulieu twice but Beaulieu showed great resilience and came back to drop Dao once, then twice, with the latter proving to be too much to come back from.
Finally, the main event was a scorcher pitting Nashville, Tennessee’s Ravon Baxter against Canadian army instructor, Halifax’s Thomas Dalziel. Early on, it was a back and forth affair, with both men connect kicks and punches. As time went by, Baxter began to show signs of wear and eventually succumbed to the punish that Dalziel had dealt him.
The WCA will be back at the Casino on February 27th. Tickets are on sale now.
