A Taste of Success: AMCAL raises $20,000 at Annual Taste of AMCAL fundraiser
Annual Taste of AMCAL – Close to 150 guests attended the 10th edition of “A Taste of AMCAL” to support AMCAL Family Services. The fundraising event, which consists of local restaurants and caterers offering a tasting of their menus, coupled with a silent auction, was held on Monday, April 16th, 2018 at the beautiful Royal St-Lawrence Yacht Club in Dorval. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, donors and guests, the event raised $20,000! This amount will go to support the many programs and services offered by AMCAL Family Services to the West Island Community.
“If we continue to strive at AMCAL, if we have the capacity to continually create, change and adapt our services to meet the needs of more and more families, it’s thanks to the support of everyone in this room. THANK YOU!” said Sophie Dalbec, Executive Director of AMCAL Family Services.
Many of the West Island’s supportive political friends were present, namely: MP for Robert Baldwin and Minister of Finance, Carlos Leitão, Mayor Maria Tutino from Baie d’Urfé, Mayor John Belvedere and Councillors from Pointe-Claire, and Mayor Jim Beis of Pierrefonds-Roxboro.
A very special thank you goes to the following partners for their continued support: Calzone, Chefs en Vedette, Epicerie Prette, Hopkins Restaurant, La Maison Verte, La Mer and the volunteers Kevin McMullen, Mike Montagano, and Michael Troyer, Le Castor Brewing Company, Le Panier, L’Espace Beaconsfield, Mariani Delights, Mr. Pretzels, Ouidram Whisky Tastings, Restaurant Sahib, Royal St-Lawrence Yacht Club, Sushi Shop Kirkland, Victor Rose Espresso Bar, and Ye Olde Orchard Pub & Grill.
The evening of great food & wine in good company also included guest speaker Stefanie, a graduate of AMCAL Family Services’ Residential Program. “I was at AMCAL five years ago, but AMCAL is still a part of me today. I am forever grateful for their help and for believing in me at a time I wasn’t able to. They are responsible for helping me evolve from a terrified little girl to the strong, confident, independent woman standing before you today. I have discovered life and I am in love with it. I am a tidal wave, an unstoppable force ready to conquer whatever obstacle comes in my way.”
