La Fête des Restos to celebrate Montreal’s Food scene
La Fête des Restos – On June 5th, food lovers will gather at Terrasses Bonsecours in the Old Port of Montreal for the second edition of La Fête des restos, an event to showcase Montreal’s rich culinary culture, presented by RestoMontreal, the longest standing restaurant directory in Quebec, in partnership with Decarie Motors, Montreal’s iconic Bentley, Aston Martin, Jaguar, and Land Rover dealership.
For one night only, over a dozen of the city’s most innovative restaurants will offer dishes inspired by the creativity and multicultural nature of Montreal’s gastronomy. The celebration will feature a mix of long established institutions and newcomers, with delectable treats by Maggie Oakes, Mercado, Fiorellino, Chasse-Galerie, Mercuri, Lola Rosa, Tapeo, Mesón, Inferno, Mauvais Garçons, Shô-Dan, Taste Italy, and Terrasses Bonsecours. Under the ambassadorship of Mr. Vianney Godbout, chef-owner of Chasse-Galerie, La Fête des restos aims to surprise guests with the creations of Montreal chefs who see the world as their pantry, drawing ideas and ingredients from places as diverse as the Quebec terroir, Italy, Spain, Japan, Peru, Mexico, and the US, with numerous international detours along the way.
“Luxury automobiles and food have always gone hand in hand,” stated Joel Segal, president of Decarie Motors. “We organize numerous events throughout the year at our dealership and we have always enjoyed treating our guests to interesting culinary experiences to highlight local chefs and adventurous restaurants. Our clients eat all over the world and are devoted fans of some of Montreal’s finest dining establishments. Our partnership with RestoMontreal and La Fête des restos is another way for us to support our city’s exciting food scene.”
Admission to the soirée is $50 per person and includes a taste of all restaurants, a complimentary drink, and a few surprises. Part of the proceeds will be donated to Moisson Montréal, the largest food bank in Canada, which distributes nearly 1,000 tons of edible goods every month to community organizations that help 137,000 people in need. “Following a successful first edition, we are delighted to be helping those in need again with our 2nd edition La Fête des restos” says Anthony Mustillo, director and co-founder of RestoMontreal. “We know Montreal is a top ranked food destination in the world and this event showcases the talent and creativity of our local chefs.”
