FCCIQ hockey tournament organized by the Italian-Canadian Community
FCCIQ hockey tournament – The second edition of the FCCIQ hockey tournament organized by the Italian-Canadian Community Foundation took place on Saturday, March 4 and Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Hockey Etcetera.
The tournament, organized under the co-presidency of FCCI Governors Peter Comito Jr. (Founder and Executive Vice-President, Operations at Selectcom Telecom) and Matteo Fiorilli (Chairman – Operating Principal at Agence Immobilière KW Dynamik) was another great success! Aside from raising funds, the event raised awareness about the Foundation’s important role in the community.
More than 100 participants took part in this event; eight teams faced off, competed for a great cause and enjoyed two days of camaraderie and sportsmanship. Habs mascot Youppi came as a special guest to entertain players and participants and show support to the Foundation and the youth hockey team Les Ambassadeurs de Laval Est had the opportunity to assist the teams throughout the competition.
Division A teams were: Montreal Impact, Quadriam, Saputo and KW Dynamik; Division B teams were: Selectcom Telecom, Laurentien Electrique, Salamina and BMW Laval. The winning teams were Quadriam for Division A and Selectcom Telecom for Division B.
A not-for-profit organization, the FCCI was created in 1975 with the objective of gathering funds to support the continuity and promotion of philanthropic organizations in the community.
