Montreal Bach Festival this November
Bach Festival – The Montreal Bach Festival is a celebration of Johann Sebastian Bach, a musical genius who has left us a timeless cultural legacy through his work. The festival is offering a number of different concerts as well as educational programs and conferences surrounding Sebastian Bach and his work. The Montreal Bach Festival is also an opportunity for local and international elite musicians to showcase their talent in Quebec, contribution to Montreal’s “international reputation as a cultural metropolis”.
The Montreal Bach Festival will be officially starting today with a performance of a “Prelude” performed by choir boys at the Basilique Notre-Dame in the Old Port. Throughout November, there will be various performances as well as conferences surrounding music and Sebastian Bach. Conferences on politics and music will be held at the University of Montreal, night choirs will be sung at the church of St. Andrew and St. Paul, there will be a performance the “Young Master of the Organ” at the Saint Joseph’s Oratory, and much more. The festival will open with a “Prelude” performed this evening, however the rest of the events organised will officially start from November 17th until December 3rd 2017. On December 12th and 13th, there will be an official closing of the festival with a “Postlude” performed at the Maison Symphonique of Montreal.
