Côtes-des-Neiges – Olivieri Library & Bistro
If you’re a student at the University of Montreal, this café / library has one of the district’s most beautiful terrace. Some students make the most of the terrace to catch up on their readings and study, others simply use it to take a break from their hectic schedule. The library and the bistro have slightly different schedules, so check them out here.

Outremont – Les Enfants Terribles
If you’re afraid of heights and don’t have the courage to have dinner at the top of Les Enfants Terribles in Downtown, don’t worry because they also have a location in Outremont. It’s situated right next to the Outremont Theatre and even stays open later to serve you after the representation. They have delicious lunch, brunch and dinner menus and can accommodate for vegetarians and vegans. Website.

Little Burgundy – September Surf Café
Don’t be fooled by their name, September Surf Café is still very much a Summer’s favourite. The café likes to celebrate their love for good coffee and for all things seasonal, like surfing in Canada. Their terrace is a little patio, perfect for end of Summer season. While drinking your coffee on their seating area outside, you’ll be able to spot the surf board decor. Website.

Mile Ex – Alexanderplatz
Alexanderplatz is Montreal’s very own “Biergarten” from Berlin. This bar is a unique space in its own way. The owners have reconverted an old garage into a trendy bar with picnic tables inside. Their outdoor terrace is in fact the parking lot. They often host events with live Djs and special prices. If you enjoy a glass of wine, make sure to attend their upcoming event “Weinplatz Weinplatz Weinplatz”. They also have veggie-friendly food.

Mile-End – Buvette Chez Simone
Buvette Chez Simone is a must for regulars living the Plateau. They are open from 4pm until 3am every day and have a convivial wine bar with a different list of vintages and tapas for everyone’s taste. It’s the perfect place for a late-night drink with your friends, it also serves food until late, so you can enjoy their delicious menu after a show.
