On the occasion of the 26th edition of Montreal’s Italian Week, local bakeries will compete in the Montreal Italian Week Dessert Contest presented by the Caisse populaire Desjardins Canadienne Italienne Sunday, August 18th at 2pm on the Jean-Talon stage in Little Italy (at the corner of Saint-Laurent and Jean-Talon boulevards).
This year, the bakeries will try to win the title of the best bomboloni, a classic Italian treat that is a light Italian doughnut stuffed with a sweet custard or pastry cream filling and lightly coated in granulated sugar.
The following bakeries will have their pastries served to the judges and festival-goers: Café Dei Campi, La Cornetteria, and San Gennaro.
The judges will be Vanessa Grimaldi, Louise Sicuro, Charly Chiarelli, Davide Bazzali, and Antonio Giorgi. Visit Italian Festival website for the full program of the festival.
