Olafur Eliasson – For two more days, The Montreal Museum of Modern Art is presenting Olafur Eliasson’s exhibition Multiple Shadow House. This is Eliasson’s first solo exhibition in Canada and it has been an immense success so far, according to the MAC.
Eliasson is an internationally acclaimed contemporary artist. He has already exhibited large-scale pieces throughout the world, “taking over public spaces”, “galleries and museums” in order to understand and interrogate our relationship with our surroundings and our space. His exhibition at the Montreal Museum of Modern Art is completely interactive and the participants are encouraged to walk around and into the installations to fully understand them. Eliasson explains that his exhibition is meant to encourage the spectator to become a participant in his art. The presence of the spectators completes the installations and we become “active players”.
Olafur Eliasson’s exhibition at the Montreal Museum of Modern Art is available until October 1st, so make sure to buy yourself a ticket before the show ends. Click here for more information. Prices to visit the exhibition ranger from 5$ up to 15$. If you’re a student, make sure to bring your student card to benefit from a 5$ discount.
