Yoga – Yogathon is a world wide event happening in ten countries and in more than fifty different cities with one cause: education. Each year, thousands of Yogis join the biggest annual yoga event to help educate people about the benefits of yoga and what it can bring to your physical and mental health and give all proceeds to children in need. Whether you’re a beginner, an expert or simply just curious about taking up a new sport, this event is perfect for you, all you need to have in hand to attend is a yoga mat. The event calls upon all participants to do at least 108 sun salutations (or more if you’re able to).
The event will take place Saturday August 18th 2018 in collaboration with the McCord Museum. Montreal’s Yogathon will be held in the museum’s Urban Forest from 9:30 am until 1:00 pm. All profits will be given to “Care for Children”, a program which helps educate young children in some of the most impoverished regions in India. Tickets for the event will be going on sale soon, so make sure to RSVP to the official Facebook event to stay up to date with any information and check out their website for more information about the cause.
