During 2014, Exsel Office Equipment is celebrating its 25th year in business. The family-run company offers solutions in terms of office design and layout, including: workstations; desks; seating; filing and storage; custom furniture; space planning & layout; office equipment; and both short and long term leasing of office furniture. They also have photocopiers, safes, executive furniture and home office furniture. Exsel also does work on the residential side with kitchens and cabinets.
“I take pride in our company first and foremost for its customer service,” boasts Exsel president Steve Schwarcz. “Our client base that includes such names as: Location Discount, Marriotte hotels, Aerolia Canada, and Vanguard Schools. Recently we supplied the United Nations Climate Change conference with all their furniture requirements for the entire meeting, just to name a few. No order is too small or too large and complicated.”
“We custom make any type of office furniture and we have a design department to aid us. We have also taken on re-locating companies, including planning and space design. As rental space is becoming expensive, many companies are heading toward placing employees into work stations; we specialize in producing re-furbished stations at a fraction of the cost of new. We have served around 7500 customers to date.”
The rationale for renting is easy to explain, notes Schwarcz. There is no capital outlay, rental costs are fully tax-deductable, and renting temporary space allows for more flexibility in a volatile business environment.
“Whether our client needs only one chair, or an entire office, they are treated with the outmost courtesy and we devote time to their needs. Our delivery people are also trained to treat clients as they themselves would like to be treated,” continues Schwarcz.
“We also have a division that builds and install kitchens as well as providing custom re-facing of existing cabinets.”
Exsel’s area of operations is concentrated on Montreal, but also extends to Quebec City and to Toronto with manufacturing and installation possible at these locations.
He also describes Exsel as a full service company, “You need it, we have it. If we don’t have it, we will get it for you. AND how do we explain OUR UNBEATABLY LOW PRICES? We can do this because our low overhead.” Schwarcz also notes that he does not have sales staff paid on commission, putting customers under less pressure.
