Is there a home renovation project that you have been meaning to get to, but either you do not have enough time to devote to it or you feel it is not worth spending the money on? We all have that one room or space in our home that could use remodelling and repurposing. You may have a “junk room” that could be used for something else, a front door that has seen better days or the exterior curb appeal of your home has been neglected for years. A basement is often a forgotten space that can be repurposed and used as extra living space or a home office. I am sure many people have a renovation project that they would love to tackle and could use some inspiration and help getting done. That is exactly what Scott McGillivray helps people with on his web series Scott’s House Call.
If you are a fan of some of HGTV’s property shows, you will love this one! In case you haven’t seen it yet, Scott McGillivray launched a web series called Scott’s House Call and today is the beginning of Season 3. The show was nominated by the Canadian Screen Awards and Scott won the 2019 Best Host, Web Program or Series category. “If you could have Scott McGillivray’s help for one day, for one project, what would it be? In Scott’s House Call, Scott takes his toolbelt on the road to tackle one-day home renovation projects that make a big difference in homeowner’s lives.”
In my 20’s I purchased my first duplex type property along with my husband and I remember watching Scott’s show Income Property and being inspired to add value to my property and tackle the important renovations. There was also a show called Buyer’s Bootcamp, where Scott helped buyers through the philosophy of DIY “do it yourself” renovations. What is different and exciting about Scott’s House Callseries, is that the renovations focus on one room in one day! Scott and his team take on one room makeovers where the homeowners desperately need the most help and the results are quick and very impactful. Imagine getting that awful space in your home redone in one day! Some of the episodes feature simpler projects like a front door or a master bedroom makeover but some projects Scott takes on are quite ambitious for one day. Another great feature, the episodes are all around 5 minutes and you get to see the results literally 1 week after completion on YouTube.
When you have neglected a space in your home for awhile, the task becomes daunting. With a little planning and inspiration anything is possible. Watching Scott’s House Call will give you insights and ideas from building materials to easy design features that can take a room from awful to wonderful! Every Thursday at 19h45 pm there is a new live episode.
