Catherine Booth Rehabilitation Hospital closing
On Sunday morning, May 26, 2019, 46 patients from the Catherine Booth Rehabilitation Hospital, a member facility of CIUSSS West-Central Montreal, will be moved by specialized buses to the Jewish General Hospital.
This temporary relocation is expected to last between nine and 12 months.
The presence of staff and patients at the Jewish General Hospital – an environment recognized for its safety and quality of care – will allow them to avoid the inconveniences associated with the renovations.
During this time, the following work will be carried out in the southern end of the 1st and 2nd floors of the rehabilitation facility:
- repair of washrooms and showers rooms to improve ergonomics, security and to better adapt them to wheelchairs and walkers;
- reconfiguration of shared washrooms for two patients per room rather than four, as is currently the case;
- new coat of paint, minor repairs and adding storage space in the
Once this work is done, patients at Catherine Booth Rehabilitation Hospital will benefit from a better environment and an increased quality of care. These renovations are part of an improvement plan for our establishments.
