Boutique 1861 is a well-known fashion destination for Montreal women seeking the perfect dress. The first location, opened in 2010 at 1861 Sainte-Catherine Street West, was an instant success. The founder, aptly named Castle, wished to open a Cinderella-inspired store where women could find dresses and accessories at an affordable price in a fairytale decor.
In 2012, the Montreal-based dress shop opened a second location on Saint-Laurent Boulevard that became their flagship store. Now, the 1861 brand has grown to become one of the best-managed retail brand in Montreal with sister properties La Petite Garçonne and Boudoir 1861, employing more than 200 people in their Saint-Laurent boulevard head office.
This week, the dreamy brand opened their doors to the media for the first time ever to show 1861 family’s behind the scenes. The result is : one big happy family, lovely brands, interesting concept stores and an undeniable business-success story.
