There’s now an added perk to working in the Sun Life Building in downtown Montreal: Exclusive yoga classes.

Certified yoga instructor Jennifer Kruidbos, MA, will be offering three classes a week to help some of the building’s 5000 occupants become more relaxed, productive and efficient at work. With morning or lunch-time yoga in a 10th floor suite overlooking downtown Montreal, participants can destress, get fit and have fun at special preferred rates, as the program is sponsored by the building management.SunLifeYoga01

This initiative, however, may be the first of its kind. Companies such as Google, Twitter, General Mills and even Bombardier offer in-house yoga to staff to promote workplace wellness, and the trend is growing among progressive companies. Yet the Sun Life Building program may be one of the first initiated by the building management for the occupants of an entire property.

The yoga program in the Sun Life Building, located at 1155 Metcalfe Street, is organized by Bentall Kennedy, a leading property management firm and the company responsible for the building’s management. “We wanted to bring yoga to the Sun Life Building because we are invested in the well-being of our tenants and their employees.

The consistent delivery of programs adapted to our tenant’s needs is our most important commitment, and health and wellness services are a priority,’’ said Nicole Bordeleau, Tenant Services Coordinator, Bentall Kennedy.

SunLifeYoga02Jennifer Kruidbos was chosen to lead the program due to her in-depth experience in corporate environments and her no-nonsense approach to yoga for busy business professionals. She’s taught yoga in law firms, tech startups, ad agencies, medical centres and even the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Jennifer recently added ightSpeed, Quebec’s fastest growing company, to her list of corporate clients.

Classes at the Sun Life Building are held Tuesdays at noon and Thursdays at 8am and noon in suite 1020, at special preferred rates – $12 for a single class, 5 classes for $55 or 10 classes for $100. Any tenant or employee of the Sun Life building may enjoy a free trial class.
