Dorval Christmas tree lighting ceremony
– Commerce Dorval, in association with the City of Dorval, les Jardins Dorval, and Dorval Elementary School, is pleased to invite one and all to attend the 14th traditional Christmas tree- lighting ceremony in Dorval Village, on Friday, December 7, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Lakeshore Drive, between Martin and Tulip avenues.
As of 5 p.m., a pop-up Christmas market will sell unique hand-made products, for some great gift ideas! Several kiosks will offer hot food and beverages, sold at very reasonable prices. A portion of all funds collected will be given to West Island Community Shares.
At 5:15 p.m., students from École Gentilly and Dorval Elementary School will sing Christmas carols and will welcome Santa, who will arrive in a horse sleigh. The tree will then be lit by Mayor Edgar Rouleau, along with Santa (around 6 p.m.)!
The blues/rock band Matt Rock will start playing its interpretation of Christmas classics, while children and their families meet Santa in person or go for a ride in the horse-sleigh, accompanied by a very special elf. A couple of memorable dance shows will get everyone moving, before Matt Rock Band ends the evening with swinging rock & roll!
Just like every year, children will have the opportunity to write directly to Santa and will receive a small gift! They will also be able to roast marshmallows – and even make S’mores (for the benefit of West Island Community Shares).
We would like to thank all our volunteers and partners for their generosity, particularly Les Jardins Dorval (Strathallen), a long-time member of our association, as they are, this year again, the major sponsor for all our Christmas events!
Don’t miss this festive community gathering and rediscover your local Dorval businesses!
