Transport Quebec announced that as of Friday April 3rd at 9:00pm the exit off of Sources Blvd. to HWY 20 West in Pointe-Claire was being closed ‘indefinitely’. Since 2016 preventive safety measures were put in place with heavy trucks not being allowed on the off-ramp, and one out of two lanes on the exit off of HWY 20 East heading to des Sources Blvd. North also closed.
The 50-year-old structure had been slated to be replaced in 2014 – but due to other Transport Quebec priorities, and with the interchange considered structurally sound and not considered an urgent matter, the work was put on hold while ongoing studies continued. In 2017, they announced that the interchange would undergo repairs, instead of being replaced – keeping it structurally for another 15 years. And now in 2020, the repair work has begun
