Major Water main break in Baie D’urfe

On May 17 at one a.m., in the industrial sector of Baie D’Urfé, Gaz Met was doing some work in the area and broke a major water main pipe causing the city to immediately shut down the water supply in the area.
The break occurred on Clark-Graham.
“The whole of the industrial sector was impacted late yesterday afternoon and a portion of the residential sector ,” Baie D’Urfé Mayor Maria Tutino explained,”the industrial sector is under advisory and select pockets of the residential districts have been advised. So if you have not been advised then it does not affect you.”
According to Tutino, the residents on Jean de La Londe Street, McBride Cres. and the north part of Surrey were advised either by email, phone or door to door communications.
The city is expecting laboratory results that will indicated the quality of the water to be concluded on Thursday May 19, in the morning.
“We expect the tests will be fine but we prefer to be cautious,” she said.
Mayor Tutino expects the advisory to be lifted as early as Thursday morning, May 19 and asks that any further questions be directed to public works 514-457-2877
