Montreal ComicCon at year 10 – Pop culture for everyone (Photos & Video)

Montreal ComicCon – It started as a relatively modest celebration of comic books and other expressions of North American pop culture; it has now grown to be one of the biggest events in Montreal. We are referring to ComicCon, which this year will mark its tenth anniversary with a program designed to make all enthusiasts of comic books and other forms of popular entertainment very happy.

Devoted primarily to comic books, this year ComicCon will mark its 10th anniversary

ComicCon will take place at the Palais des Congrès between July 6 and 8, 2018. Initially a gathering occasion for comic books enthusiasts, the event has become now a celebration of all manifestations of pop culture, including TV shows, videogames, and movies, especially the fantasy, horror, and science-fiction genres. It is also an occasion for people to get somehow involved in this fantasy world by dressing up as some of the most popular characters of pop culture, from the iconic Superman to the most recent additions to the Star Wars universe.

At a press conference this past Tuesday, Cliff Caporale, ComicCon Programming Director, announced the line-up for this year’s edition. On the comic book front, the list of guests will include Gerry Conway according to the producers of this event, “the mighty scriptwriter behind some of Marvel’s and DC’s most powerful moments, including the traumatic death of Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man, and the introduction of Frank Castle, a.k.a. The Punisher.” Also among the guests are Larry Hama, a writer for Marvel Comics series between 1982 and 1994. X-Files stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will also visit

Followers of the cult TV series “The X-Files” will be happy to know that its two stars, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will also be among the guests this year. Joining those two TV actors will be movie famous villain Danny Trejo, the star of Robert Rodriguez’s films “Desperado” (1985), “From Dusk Till Dawn” (1996), and “Spy Kids” (2001). Lovers of martial arts films and TV series will enjoy the presence of iconic actor Chuck Norris.
