FOOD & DRINKS
Every year, OSHEAGA showcases a variety of different food vendors to suit all tastes. Many of Montreal’s favorite food trucks, concession stands and restaurants will be located throughout the festival site, offering up a wide variety of dishes and local specialties, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
In addition, the 3nd edition of the YUL EAT Gardens will delight attendees with a full range of food and beverage options featuring pop-up restaurants from some local favourites. This gourmet haven offers signature dishes from Agrikol (Haitian cuisine), Venice (Californian cuisine), Street Monkeys (Cambodian tapas), Foodchain (fresh salads), and Grumman ‘78 (Mexican cuisine).
Access to the YUL EAT Gardens is free but the food is paid.
Festival goers can also quench their thirst for free, courtesy of National Bank, by filling up their reusable bottles at 1 of 14 new water-refill stations spread across the festival site. National Bank will also provide almost 9000 reusable water bottles, which can also be refilled at the National Bank water truck which holds up to 31,500 litres of water, the equivalent of 57,232 bottles of water.
SAFETY IS A PRIORITY
OSHEAGA is proud to confirm that the Hirondelles will spread their wings, again this year. The Hirondelles intervention teams, formed of specialized responders, are security squads with the mission of increasing the safety of women and vulnerable persons during outdoor events in Montreal. The members of this mobile squad are easily identifiable thanks to the logo representing swallows (“hirondelles”) that is displayed both on the armbands of the agents, on posters indicating their presence and near the specially installed quiet spaces. This year also sees the implementation of a new “Child Pairing” system using festival goers’ RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) bracelets to allow families to stay closer together throughout the festival experience. The new system allows parents to digitally tether with their children by pairing their bracelets so that they can always stay connected. This is a free service, offered by evenko to all parents who want to register their children’s bracelets onsite at the designated info kiosk. With the registration process, valuable information can be encoded on the child’s bracelet including name, emergency contact info of parents, and specific allergies or important health information, accessible instantly to all security and staff on site with a basic RFID scanner.
OSHEAGA would also like to remind all attendees to:
RESPECT THE ENVIRONMENT;
RESPECT THEMSELVES – KNOW THEIR LIMITS!
BEATING THE HEAT
OSHEAGA would like to remind all of its fans to stay hydrated and keep cool during the week-end! Many measures have been put in place to help festival goers including: Free water on site provided by National Bank (reusable bottles are more than welcomed!), more shading areas, sprinklers and hoses to spray everyone during the shows. There is also a giant water fountain presented by Bell Alt TV this year, it’s the perfect way to keep cool.
