Canadian olympians showed off their medals on their arrival at Trudeau Airport on Tuesday, Feb. 25, as they returned home following the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games
Cheered on by family, friends and a crowd of fans, Canada’s short track speed skating champions arrived at Trudeau Airport last Tuesday.
Among them were Charles Hamelin and longtime girlfriend and teammate Marianne St-Gelais, his younger brother François Hamelin, Olivier Jean, Charle Cournoyer, Michael Gilday, Valerie Maltais, Jessica Hewitt, Marie-Eve Drolet, and Jessica Gregg.
Later in the afternoon a second flight brought five members of the Canadian Women’s Hockey Team home.
Charline Labonté, Melodie Daoust, Caroline Ouellette, Lauriane Rougeau, and Catherine Ward, with other members of Team Canada, defeated the United States in a 3-2 overtime victory, winning gold for Canada.
