Alexander Wang pairing up with H&M
By Alyssa De Rosa – Montreal Times
As of November 2014, men and women who are fans of American designer Alexander Wang’s collections will fret no more because he’s the latest celebrity designer to partner with H&M. Wang is the first American designer and the youngest to do business with the popular fashion chain.
Since H&M has been doing partnered collections designers like Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld, Versace, Lanvin and Isabel Marant saw their brands on name tags in H&M stores across the globe, making it possible for middle class buyers to get their hands on “haute-couture.”
“We’ve always liked Alexander’s designs,” explained H&M’s creative advisor, Margareta van den Bosch at Alexander’s Coachella party where the collaboration was announced. “He’s very contemporary. “It’s very young, but it’s also things that can be worn by any age because of his influences in tailoring and sport.” For any of you who know Wang’s designs, she is absolutely right. His designs are very young and very much influenced by people of today, both young and older. Wang’s response towards the collaboration was very positive. He explained that his partnership will involve some new ideas and he’ll have a different approach towards the collection.
Not much else was said so all you eager shoppers will have to wait until November 6, 2014 when the designs will be sold in 250 H&M stores worldwide.
