LGH Foundation’s 8th Annual Fashion Show
by Dick Nieuwendyk
Last Saturday, the Lakeshore General Hospital (LGH) Foundation held its 8th Annual Fashion Show ”BURLESQUE” presented by Volkswagen des Sources at their new location at 2311 Place Transcanadienne in Dorval.
Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour, withdelicious canapés, a silent auction, a raffle, and a musical performance by Pointe-Claire’s Kat Garcia. The show hosted by Paul Karwatsky from CTV News at 6 and Charlene Fowo from KelledStyle, started with a sensual performance by burlesque dancer Maya Melata, after which stunning models strutted down the rose-petal lined catwalk showcasing exclusive collections of April Gold, Denim Kings, Joseph Ribkoff, Arti Gogna, Busrhearts, KSIS Boutique, Pose Avenue, Moose
Knuckles, and Signor Terry. Mayor John Meaney of Kirkland and his wife, Evelyn, also walked the runway.
The evening ended with a live auction. All proceeds from the event will go directly to help the area of greatest need at our community hospital.
Thanks go to the Charles Hammer Automotive Group for their generous sponsorship and to Volkswagen des Sources for graciously hosting this event for the 4th time, to Merck, Yeh! Yogurt DDO, and Nagi Cosmetics. Models’ hair and makeup was done by students from the Laurier Macdonald Career Centre.
Everyone in attendance was given an amazing Marc Jacobs gift set, valued at over $100, courtesy of Coty Canada, as well as other beauty products and accessories.
