After an unexpected success in 2013, the sale of street signs will resume on June 16, 2014. Starting on that date, it will be possible to order an old street sign located in the northern sector of Dorval only (north of Highway 20) by calling Dorval City Hall at 514-633-4040.
Once the specific urban souvenir is removed from the municipal environment, the person who will have reserved it will be contacted and will be able to take it home.
It is important to mention that orders will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. Each sign costs $10 and all the money will be given to Dorval’s Community Aid or to non-profit organizations.
The sale date for the street signs of the southern sector (south of Highway 20) will be given subsequently. We invite you to visit the City’s website regularly, at city.dorval.qc.ca, to keep you informed about the developments on that matter.
Last year, the City of Dorval had initiated a process to replace its street signs in order to modernize them and make them more visible. This important project, which is expected to end this year, also allows residents of Dorval and elsewhere to purchase old street signs that are removed throughout the process.
Please note that it is prohibited for anyone to take down the current street signs in Dorval. Violators are subject to fines.
