West Island Community Shares’ Masquerade Ball – On September 23rd, 200 guests in elegant formal attire and mysterious masks filled the ballroom of the Marriott Airport Montreal In-Terminal Hotel for West Island Community Shares’ Masquerade Ball fundraiser. The glamorous evening which took place under the theme of “Black & White” was deemed an overwhelming success, raising a net total of $135,000.

Mr. Martin Thibodeau, President, Quebec Headquarters,  RBC Royal Bank, Mr. Loris Zancan, Vice President, Strategic Procurement and Manufacturer Relations, McKesson Canada and Mr. Peter Hart, Chief Executive Director, Rideau Recognition were honourary co-chairs of the event. “Thank you to our co-chairs for their commitment to giving back to our community,” said Leanne Bayer, Executive Director of West Island Community Shares. “Their business leadership extends to paving the way for companies to support the communities where their employees live and work.”

 Distinguished guests included Mr. Martin Coiteux, (Member for Nelligan, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Land Occupancy, Minister of Public Security and Minister responsible for the Montreal region), Mr. Carlos Leitão, (Member for Robert-Baldwin, Minister of Finance) and Mr. Frank Baylis (MP for Pierrefonds-Dollard).

 Ms. Bayer thanked National Bank, the Platinum Sponsor of the Masquerade Ball. Other partners were Pfizer Canada, Novacap and Pharmaprix. Ms. Bayer extended her thanks to nine masked ambassadors who spontaneously donated $1,000 during the evening as well as to all the guests for their support.
