Pearson Educational Foundation`s fundraising Classic Golf Tournament takes place Oct. 3
The Pearson Educational Foundation is hosting its fundraising Classic Golf Tournament on Oct. 3 and it`s one not to be missed.
“Not only will it be a wonderful day of golf, there will also be a cocktail and dinner at the Club de Golf Atlantide in Notre Dame de l`Ile Perrot,” said Barbara Freeston, president of the Pearson Educational Foundation which provides funding for initiatives beyond the scope of regular government funding.
Those funding initiatives fall into three key categories, explained Freeston.
The first promotes enhanced learning in the arts, sciences and entrepreneurship; the second addresses socio-economic challenges faced by many students by providing food, clothing and other basic necessities to students in need.
Lastly, the Foundation also provides deserving students with scholarships and awards based on financial need, merit and in recognition of distinguished efforts within the community.
But it takes funding to do all that, said Freeston, adding that this year, the Foundation`s Classic Golf Tournament will replace the Foundation`s Gala evening, usually held in November.
“We`ll see how it works out,” said Freeston. “Maybe we will alternate between the Golf Classic and Gala year to year.”
Tickets for the entire Golf/Dinner event cost $250, and come with a $100 receipt while the cocktail Hour/Dinner costs $125 and comes with a $50 receipt.
As well, there are many opportunities for corporate sponsorships, such as dinner, wine, cocktail, cart, brunch, hole and more Donations are welcome.
Tickets are limited so don`t delay.
