Poutine Week – Back with a gravy vengeance

Who doesn’t love a combination of gravy, french fries and cheese? I know I do! Next week poutine lovers will be rejoicing because for the second consecutive year restaurants around the city will be showcasing their best gravy and cheese infused dishes. As of February 1st, 30 restaurants will offer customers unique poutines for just $10.00 or less.

Co-founder, Na’eem Adam, who is also the co-founder of Le Burger Week and Thierry Rassam are the masterminds behind this delicious exploration.

All week, you get the chance to visit La Poutine Week restaurants, try the poutine and rate them on the event’s official website (lapoutineweek.com) in order to distinguish who really makes the city’s “best poutine.”

Say goodbye to boring poutine and welcome dishes made with a variety of ingredients like pulled pork, Italian sausage, peppers, mushrooms, and curry to name a few. Restaurants like Chez Boris, La Banquise, Poutineville, Frite Alors, Ice House, and Blackstrap BBQ will be among many others offering fans warm, gooey goodness we all know and love as poutine.

Last year Poutineville took the cake and was rated the “best poutine” in Montreal for their General Tao poutine. Who will win this year? It’s up to US to put our calorie worries aside, grab a fork, dig in and let the gravy flow!
