TABASCO® Sauce Celebrates 150 Years with exclusive dinner series to raise funds for Bocuse d’Or Canada in Montreal – To celebrate this historic milestone, TABASCO® sauce is set to awaken the palates of 300 of its biggest Canadian fans with an exclusive three-night dinner series in Montreal this July. The versatile cooking staple, which has made a friend of chefs, home cooks, bartenders and food lovers for more than three generations, is partnering with Bocuse D’Or Team Canada to create three different menus that will be cooked by 11 of the top chefs in the city including chefs from Lavenderia/Park, FoieGwa, Miel, Chez Lionel and l’ITHQ to only name a few.
A fundraising initiative for Team Canada, the three dinners will offer guests the chance to choose the menu that most appeal to them and experience the iconic product in a wide array of flavours from the culinary spectrum each night.
Under the theme “Global Kitchen”, the four course meals are trading the usual flavours Tabasco is typically associated with for a fine dining fare. This, to inspire foodies to create and enliven dishes in unexpected ways by going beyond the usual with one of the seven pepper sauces available in Canada.
“We’re excited to support our Canadian team and help them raise funds to represent our country in the most prestigious culinary competition in the world while giving a unique experience to the people who made Tabasco a staple in kitchens from coast to coast”, explains Diana D’Elia, brand Brand Manager for Tabasco Sauce at I-D Foods, the retail distributor of the brand in Canada. “Canadians have embraced the brand and made Tabasco an essential ingredient in classic recipes for 150 years. The Montreal festivities will be a unique occasion for food lovers to experience Tabasco in contemporary dishes created by Bocuse D’Or Canada chefs in a culinary adventure like no other.”
On July 18th, 19th and 20th, TABASCO + Bocuse d’Or are teaming up in celebration of TABASCO’s 150th anniversary and Bocuse d’Or Team Canada’s 2nd place win at the semifinals (of the Americas) in Mexico this past April – meaning that Tabasco + Bocuse d’Or get to compete in the World Cup of cookery finals in Lyon this coming January 2019! This is a huge moment for Canada and an equally important milestone for TABASCO, and that is why these two are joining forces to bring Montrealers a truly unique series of three exclusive dinners that feature TABASCO as a core ingredient in each and every dish, all while helping raise funds for Bocuse d’Or Team Canada in support of their journey to Lyon.
The dinners will be prepared by 11 of the top names in the city including chefs from Lavenderia/Park, FoieGwa, Miel, Chez Lionel & l’ITHQ to name a few – all who have agreed to come together to offer their respective culinary talents in support of Canada’s national culinary team. A total of 300 guests (100 per night) will get the chance to experience gourmet haute cuisine that incorporates one of seven different TABASCO sauces available in Canada. It’s a chance to sit down for a once-in-a-lifetime four-course menu plus wine pairings for a price of only $50 per person. All funds collected will go right back to support Team Canada.
