GOALMTL – Lions Cup Soccer Tournament – Percival Molson Stadium
Local celebrities and media stars face off against bar and restaurant staff in soccer tournament for charity
There is no better place to be in the summertime than a Montreal restaurant or bar patio. Well, maybe there is. Come down to Percival Molson Stadium on Sunday, July 26 and cheer on your favourite bartenders, restaurant staff and local celebs and media stars as they battle each other in a soccer tournament to raise funds for Montreal charities. Rivalry in the kitchen is one thing; let’s see how intense it gets when friendly competitors go head-to-head on the pitch.
For the fifth year, 23 bars and restaurants in Montreal will pay to play in the GOALMTL- Lions Cup Soccer Tournament,and endeavour to bring the Cup home. The 24th team will be made up of Montreal celebrities and media stars, many of whom also recently participated in the GFI Futbol game, which pitted two celeb teams against one another in a private, VIP match.
GOALMTL raises funds for non-profit organizations that help support families, youth, social activities and education. To date, over $125,000 has been raised. This year’s beneficiaries will be the Tyndale St-Georges Community Centre, located in Griffintown, which is the tournament organizer Pub Burgundy Lion’s ‘hood, and the Montreal Community Cares Foundation, which supports the development of youth across the city.

Tickets will also be available for sale at the tournament.
The raffle has some great prizes, including: one month’s use of aSilver Star Mercedes, 50,000 Aeroplan Miles; Canadiens, New York Red Bulls & Impact signed jerseys; Dinner with Montreal Alouettes’ Defensive End #7 John Bowman & other members of the team; a signed guitar from rock singer Jonas; and Osheaga, Heavy Montreal &IleSoniq weekend passes.

The All-Star team will feature Antonio Park (Park Restaurant), DJ Yo-C, Natasha Gargiulo (Virgin Radio / Entertainment Tonight Canada), Bilal Butt (CHOM), Jason Rockman (CHOM), Dan Delmar (CJAD), Conor McKenna (TSN 690), Wilder Weir (Breakfast Television), Camille Ross (Global), Brendan Kelly (Montreal Gazette / CBC / Radio-Canada), Patrick Leduc (RDS, former Impact player), (Patrick Langlois (Ça commence bien), Oliver Kult (MaisonPrivée), DJ Jojo Flores, LolittaDandoy and Jonathan Burnham (Fashion is Everywhere), Samantha Cutler (Ogilvy / SilverLining by S), Drea Wheeler (fitness expert) and Dustin Gilman (Food Guy Montreal) as well as other celebrities.The All-Star team will be coached by Lloyd Barker (Montreal Gazette, former Impact and Jamaican National team player), and Noel Butler (TSN 690). Current Impact star Patrice Bernier will also drop by the event to meet fans and players – and who knows, give them a tip or two!
The public is welcome to attend the game at the PercivalMolson Stadium – 475, avenue des Pins West, Montreal.There will be plenty of things to do –from sumo soccer (that’s soccer played while all players are wearing an inflatable bubble. Really.) to DJs spinning all-day long, to the best food trucks in the city, and of course, Carlsberg, Sleeman, Newcastle Brown Ale and Stella Artois beer.
