James Mullinger at Comedyworks on Bishop

By: Stuart Nulman –

Nearly a year after the triumphant run of his solo show at the Montreal Fringe Festival, British comedian James Mullinger returns to our city to perform for three nights next weekend (May 14, 15 and 16) at the Comedyworks club, located at 1238 Bishop Street.

A comedian for the past 10 years, Mullinger offers an energetic stand-up show filled with plenty of humorous storytelling of his many celebrity encounters thanks to his hosting of the funny film review TV show “Movie Kingdom”, as well as his life on the road as a stand-up.  When he moved to live in Canada (in particular, New Brunswick) with his wife and children last year, Mullinger’s career thrived even further, with continuous touring with his comedy show across North America, (which was nominated for the Just For Laughs Best Comedy Show Award at last year’s Montreal Fringe Festival), hosting a reality TV series about his life as a British comic living in Atlantic Canada, and the release of his first CD, “Living the Canadian Dream”.

Joining Mullinger at Comedyworks are opening acts Derek Seguin (who will emcee the shows), Patrick Hakeem, Jakub Stachurksi and Adam Susser. Tickets for the May 14 show are already sold out, but are available for the May 15 and 16 shows, and cost only $15 each, and $10 for students.
