The energy was bustling this past Sunday, September 8th, 2013 at the 12th Annual TD Spaghetti Lunch to benefit West Island Community Shares held at Le Vieux Four Managò restaurant in Kirkland. Applause and joy filled the air when the $100,000 raised for the community was announced live on 92.5 The Beat.
“TD Bank Group has been a proud supporter of Community Shares for quite a few years.” said Elena Rizzuto, Vice President, TD Canada Trust, Western District. “The assistance provided to so many West Islanders in need is crucial and we are happy to do our part in rallying employees, customers and business partners behind a great cause.”
More than 350 customers feasted on a delicious salad, a generous plate of spaghetti, a glass of red or white wine, a decadent dessert and tea/coffee. With 92.5 The Beat on location doing a live broadcast, The Beat music set the energetic tone of the event, a car wash sponsored by Subaru des Sources, Volkswagen des Sources and Honda des Sources, information on the Child I.D. program provided by Police of Station 1, various children’s activities, and free ice cream provided by the TD Caravan were also part of the day.
“It’s inspiring to see how many loyal customers, employees, family and friends came out on Sunday to show their support!” exclaimed Carole Derome, Kirkland TD Branch Manager, Captain of the organizing committee and Vice-President of Community Shares. “We had another successful fundraiser by raising a total of $100,000. As a proud member of the Community Shares’ Board of Director, it’s also great to know that 100% of the funds raised will go to help numerous West Island families in need.”
The TD Spaghetti Lunch’s success is made possible by TD Bank Group which is led mainly by the West Island branches who join forces and volunteer for this large event; more than 100 volunteers came out on Sunday which included TD branch employees, family members, partners, regional staff, clients and sponsors.
The TD Spaghetti Lunch fundraiser’s success is attributed to its collaborators: Le Vieux Four Managò Restaurant, 92.5 The Beat, Subaru des Sources, Volkswagen des Sources et Honda des Sources, police officers Lévis and Jack of Station 1 Police Department, as well as the City of Kirkland.
The TD Spaghetti Lunch has contributed more than $850,000 to Community Shares in the last twelve years. In addition to the Spaghetti Lunch, and a generous corporate donation each year, its West Island branch employees contribute their time and energy to help as committee members, volunteers, and attendees of our annual events.
