Sun Youth spreads cheer with Christmas Tree Sale
Approaching its 60th anniversary in 2014, Sun Youth Organization has always relied on the contributions and generosity of the public to sustain its programs, but has also prided itself on the ability to provide services to all members of the community and not simply those in need. In that spirit, Sun Youth’s annual Christmas tree sale began nearly 4 decades ago in order to both raise funds for the organization and ensure access to evergreen trees in the spirit with the wonderful traditions of the holiday season. Available on the southwest corner of Parc Avenue and Mont-Royal Street, and the Trudeau International Airport Travelodge at 1010 Herron Road in Dorval, this sale is one of the many ways in which Sun Youth attempts to imbue the holiday season with festive cheer, with trees modestly priced between $25 and $60 depending on their size. The volunteer who has spent nearly 30 years on the Christmas Tree Sale after being invited to join it by Sun Youth co-founder Earl De La Perralle, said it “…feels good to give back, though after a long time you can get used to it,” laughingly adding that “it’s not such a bad feeling to get used to.” Sun Youth wishes everyone the happiest of holiday seasons, and invites all to come to either of its Christmas Tree Sale locations to join in the festive spirit!
