A water main break has occurred on Friday, November 13, 2015, around 6 p.m. on boulevard de Pierrefonds, between rue Paiement and rue Sainte-Anne, in front of 15729, boul. de Pierrefonds.
To repair this leakage affecting a 6-inch pipe, the Borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro had to close a valve that supplies water from a 20-inch main water pipe. While doing this operation, the valve has proven to be defective. Therefore, the borough has requested the cooperation and the expertise of Ville de Montréal to repair this leakage. Once the intervention of the Ville centre’s team completed, our teams will be able to repair the leakage within an hour.
“During the weekend, the teams of the Borough’s Public Works Department and Ville de Montréal’s teams worked together in order to urgently repair the water main break that occurred on boulevard de Pierrefonds. It appears that the work has become more and more important as it progressed. Be assured that we are following closely the ongoing operations and will keep you informed.”, declared Mr. Dimitrios (Jim) Beis, Pierrefonds- Roxboro Borough Mayor, and Member of Ville de Montréal’s Executive Committee, responsible for procurement, sports and recreation, and communities of diverse origins.
The borough had to close approximately twenty valves to isolate the leakage. Therefore, water supply was interrupted on rues Neveu, Becket and Kimber in addition to addresses along boulevard de Pierrefonds, between boulevard Saint-Charles and rue Paiement, on Sunday, November 15, around 4 a.m. It is important to mention that no boil water advisory is currently in effect. If such an advisory is to be issued, the affected citizens will be informed.
Residents affected by this water supply interruption can obtain, free of charge, 16 liters of water per day at the Pierrefonds Cultural Centre, 13850, boulevard Gouin Ouest, in Pierrefonds, upon presentation of a proof of residence.
