Everyone can get angry from time to time. Want to stay calm, even if you lose while playing at https://play-amo.net/ or cannot do something at work? Have a look at these tips to stay calm.
Simply keep calm
When the mind is in threat response mode, it cannot perceive the necessary information, soberly assess what is happening. So whatever the reasons for the anxiety – first and foremost, pause.
What looks so easy is, for most of us, the hardest step. “I’m too busy,” “It’s not right for me,” “I have to do something right now” are the things that come to mind when advised to drop the pace. But there are always a few seconds to take a deep breath.
Transport yourself to a calm space
Imagine a place where you feel good and at peace. Close your eyes and try to see it in every detail – colours, smells, sensations, and sounds. This is your personal space of peace.
Think of a word to describe it. For example, “serenity,” “zen,” or “harmony.” As you continue to visualize the space of peace, mentally repeat the chosen name. Allow the image and word to take hold in your mind.
After spending some time on this, later on in any situation you will be able to quickly move to the space of rest by speaking its name in your mind. A second and you’re on the shore of a lake or in your bedroom, where peace and quiet reigns.
Tap
Tapping is a technique that helps you relax, release tension, and detach from your problems. Slowly tap your fingers alternately on your left and right sides, either on your hips or in the middle of your shoulder (in this case, cross your arms over your chest). Do it lightly, slowly and rhythmically, 20 times in total. Imagine playing a drum, hitting it with your left and right hand at the same speed as you slowly clap your hands.
Switch to action
When emotions take over, it’s as if a mechanism inside us activates to activate panic, fear, and anger. At this point, you can start the switch button, focusing on the specific actions you need to take for a favourable outcome, rather than on the risks or dangers.
Observe your pets
Want to learn how to hit the pause button in time to rest and reset? Then watch how dogs and cats relax. They are true Zen masters. They don’t worry about what’s going to happen in the next minute, they don’t think about missed opportunities. Resting, they focus entirely on the activity. It’s worth taking note of this tactic.
