Help rescue and rehabilitate handicapped animals while having fun doing so at Centre Refuge Nymous’ Festimous Summer Edition

The Beauties and the Beasts is a non-profit organization that helps raise funds and structure business plans for different foundations Their mission is simple: support as many animal welfare organizations as possible through various charitable activities.

The project began when Kim Bruneau and Goran Hamsic crossed paths. As an ambassador for various animal organizations and always looking for new ways to help, Kim wanted to create an event. Goran, a passionate and highly creative artist, suggested an art exhibition and they started brainstorming from there.

The idea was to find a way to set up an entertaining and vibrant event that was both artistic and authentic at once. It wasn’t very long before friends and family joined forces with the clever mix of our two protagonists and a committee of key players to develop a new initiative. With a host of a variety of Canadian and world-known uprising talents agreeing to be part of this amazing event, the art fair for animal welfare was founded and from there spawned a slew of other activities, the Festimous is one of them.

Following the tremendous success of their first year when $82,000 was raised and after the first edition of the Festimous that took place on December 29, 2018; which raised a total of $2,500 in donations, Kim and Goran realized that The Beauties and the Beasts was more than an event, it’s a movement. A movement bringing together animal lovers and associations dedicated to protecting and rehabilitating animals and that it needed to grow.

Now a bi-annual event, the Festimous is building steam and on Saturday, September 14, The Beauties and the Beasts invite us to a free festive family day at the Nymous Refuge Centre in Lanaudière. On the program: games and gifts for the little ones, sweepstakes, music, lighting in the forest, animated activities, educational presentations of the center and the animals, refreshments and a barbecue supper graciously provided by the Sperano team (while stocks last). The shelter’s operations are entirely financed by donors’ funds.

For the second edition of the Festimous, the objective is to raise $5,000 to build a four-season habitat for disabled raccoons. All donations make a significant difference here is how to contribute to this fundraising campaign to help The Beauties and the Beasts achieve its goal.
