Our favourite “food happening” MTLàTABLE , is back again this year, from November 1st to November 13, 2019. It’s a great opportunity to discover 150 restaurants that will be offering table d’hôte dinner menus at truly fantastic prices ($23, $33 or $43). Because it is (unfortunately) not possible to try all 150 restaurants, we have compiled a top 5 list of restaurants you should try. So, here it is, our top 5 restaurants to try this year for MTLATABLE ….

EAST

East Restaurant, which quietly open inside the very funky Renaissance Hotel downtown Montreal offers pan-Asian cuisine in an eclectic and modern atmosphere with decor details that will bring you back to Old Shanghai’s heyday. Take advantage of MTLATABLE to sample some of their specialties such as the: Pekin-style duck dish or the Kinoko gohan, a Japanese-style rice. The restaurant is offering a 43$ table d’hôte menu for the occasion, and you shouldn’t miss it.

Miel

The first restaurant of chef Hakim Chajar as an owner, Miel, has been a great success since its opening in Pointe-Saint-Charles neighbourhood. Good thing it’s participating to MTLÀTABLE this year, because it will give the chance to many of us who didn’t already have the opportunity to try it to do so. Offering a 43$ table d’hôte menu  every night during MTLÀTABLE, you should book a table right now, if don’t want to miss out on chef Chajar oh-so creative plates.

Melisse

Melisse has been a personal favourite since its opening in the new “21e arrondissement” of Old Montreal. Offering a modern and plant-inspired design and a healthy/light menu for both brunch/lunch and dinner, this establishment quickly became a hot-spot. These are only few of the reasons why you should give this place a try during MTLATABLE  A great deal for a 43$ 3-course meal that features Quebec specialities and ingredients and that can be adapted for vegetarians and gluten intolerants.

Josephine

This fairly new chic neighbourhood bistro offers a seasonal menu of dishes mainly prepared with local and fresh produce, mainly fish (executive chef, Simon Leblanc, used to run the kitchen at Helena, a high-end Portuguese restaurant in Old Montreal) to vegetarian options. Since Josephine is more a “special occasion” kind of restaurant, MTLATABLE is a great time to try it out if it’s not already done.

Siam

The new (and first Montreal) chic second address of the popular Thaï restaurant Siam is offering an interesting table d’hôte menu at only 33$ every night during MTLATABLE. The great thing about this restaurant, other than its gorgeous and swanky decor, its the fact that it’s open 7 days/week. It is then perfect for dinner date on a Sunday or Monday.

MTLATABLE is a highly popular event, so we suggest you make your reservations as soon as possible if you want to be able to try all the restaurants you wish. Full participants list and booking engines are available online.
