Dorval wins Renaissance Challenge – The City of Dorval and its citizens stood out as part of the Renaissance Fall fundraising campaign, held from September 23 to October 20, 2018. On the occasion, Renaissance launched the “Renaissance Challenge”, a friendly competition where 25 cities and boroughs of Greater Montreal were in the running. The people of Metropolitan Montreal were invited to donate their clothing and reusable items to the donation center in their neighbourhood, to support their municipality and the mission to return to the Renaissance job market.

 

On November 12, 2018, at the Dorval Renaissance Donation Center, Mr. Edgar Rouleau, Mayor of the City of Dorval, received an honorary plaque from Mr. Éric St-Arnaud, Executive Director of Renaissance, for the price of the largest number of donations collected per 1000 inhabitants.

Congratulations to the City of Dorval!

The City of Dorval hosts a Renaissance collection point within its territory. Thanks to the generosity of the population, the municipality won the prize for the largest number of donations collected per 1000 inhabitants, with 126.37 donors. There are 80,535 pounds of clothing and other household goods that have been diverted from landfills.

Honorary plaque award

To underline the generosity and support of the citizens and those of the City of Dorval, Mr. Éric St-Arnaud, Executive Director of Renaissance, presented an honorary plaque to Mr. Edgar Rouleau, Mayor of the City of Dorval, this past Monday, November 12th 2018 at 10:30 am at the Renaissance Donation Center located at 707 Lakeshore Drive, Dorval.

“Thank you and congratulations to all the citizens of the City of Dorval, as well as to the municipality. Thanks to your donations, you make a great gesture for the environment, but also good for your community; every year, you make a difference in the lives of more than 200 people who are far from the job market, who regain their independence and their dignity, “says Éric St-Arnaud.

Renaissance

Renaissance is a non-profit organization in Quebec that has been working since 1994 with hundreds of people each year to return to the job market. Renaissance also has 50 collection points where to deposit clothes and household goods in good condition to give them a second life, of which 16 are also stores and 9 bookstores for shopping at low prices and without taxes.
