Igloofest’s Winter Tornado Sweeps Across Canada: After Montréal, Québec City and Gatineau, the Festival Lands in Edmonton for the First Time Ever in 2026!
Montréal, October 30, 2025 – It’s happening! Winter 2026 will mark a historic milestone for Igloofest as it crosses Québec’s borders to spread across Canada — and Edmonton will be the first to feel the storm! This iconic festival, renowned for transforming the coldest winter months into a true celebration of music, dance, and fun, is now expanding to four major Canadian cities.
Since 2007, Igloofest has brought together thousands of music lovers to dance under the open sky at Montréal’s Old Port. With its frosty decor blending with steel structures, striking architectural stage design, stellar lineup of top local and international artists, playful Igloovillage, and infamous snowsuit contest, Igloofest has become one of the trendiest and most anticipated winter events in the city — and across the country.

This year, for its 18th edition, Igloofest will take over Montréal’s Old Port for four weekends of pure energy and emotion. From Montréal to Edmonton, the festival will travel nationwide: Montréal (Jan 15–Feb 7), Gatineau (Feb 12–14), Québec City (Mar 5-7), and Edmonton (Mar 12–14), wrapping up winter on a grand note. Following successful launches in Gatineau and Québec City, the icy yet electric experience grows bigger than ever, rolling out as follows:
- Montréal: January 15 to February 7, 2026 — Montréal, where winter hits hardest
- Gatineau: February 12 to 14, 2026 — Gatineau, the sequel everyone’s been waiting for
- Québec City: March 5 to 7, 2026 — Québec City, where winter takes back control
- Edmonton: March 12 to 14, 2026 — Edmonton, you thought you knew cold?
More Than a Festival — A Winter Ritual
For over 15 years, Igloofest has dared to celebrate winter, no matter how fierce it gets. Born in Montréal, this pact has become a beloved tradition: bringing thousands together to dance through freezing temperatures, united by the power of electronic music that warms hearts and bodies alike.
The 18th edition promises an unforgettable, next-level Igloofest with a rich and diverse lineup featuring some of the most sought-after local and international artists in the global electronic scene. To set the tone, two major acts have already been confirmed for Montréal:

- Belgian rap icon Hamza
- The smooth, atmospheric sounds of British artist Elderbrook (DJ set)

Igloofest Expands, but Remains Proudly Québécois
Even as it grows across the country, Igloofest stays true to its roots — a festive spirit, a love for winter, and unmistakable Québec authenticity. The iconic colourful snowsuits and classic Igloo tuques will once again be essential gear for dancing under the stars. And this is just the beginning — the festival is actively expanding and aims to add new cities next year, continuing its mission to make Canada fall in love with winter.
Because winter without Igloofest just isn’t really winter.
