The 22nd annual Ken Reed Golf Tournament—named in 2006 in honour of Ken Reed, founder of Tenaquip—raised a record amount of $334,091 for the Old Brewery Mission. The proceeds will go directly to support the development of the organization’s programs and operations to break the cycle of homelessness in Montreal.
The popular event, held at the prestigious Beaconsfield Golf Club on Montreal’s West Island, was quickly sold out. The Ken Reed Golf Tournament has become a must for engaged golfers in the greater Montreal area. For more than 20 years, it has been supporting the Old Brewery Mission, which works daily to break the cycle of homelessness in Montreal through a three-pronged approach: prevention, emergency services and rehousing.
Attendees also had the opportunity to watch a video preview presenting Tenaquip Place, a new 18-unit permanent rehousing project in Lachine that accommodates couples—a first for the Old Brewery Mission’s rehousing services! This innovative project was made possible by, among other things, an exceptional $4.5 million donation from the Tenaquip Foundation, a uniquely generous contribution to an Old Brewery Mission housing project.
As a longstanding partner and major donor, the Tenaquip Foundation is proud to be associated with the organization in this major project and the annual golf tournament: “With the unprecedented housing crisis we are facing, it is imperative to invest in long-term solutions,” says Michael Fitzgerald, Executive Director of the Tenaquip Foundation. “Partnering with the Old Brewery Mission is a concrete way to help break the cycle of homelessness.”

About the Tenaquip Foundation
The Tenaquip Foundation was founded in November of 2006 by Ken Reed, the founder of Tenaquip Limited. Since its operations began in 2006-2007, the Tenaquip Foundation has donated close to $50 million dollars to Canadians in need and has also been involved with several international projects.
