Festi Jazz Mont-Tremblant returns for its 18th edition with nearly 40 free concerts and over 130 artists

In one week, Festi Jazz Mont-Tremblant returns for its 18th edition with nearly 40 free concerts and over 130 artists featured across six series. The downtown Mont-Tremblant Public Space (Saint-Jovite) will be transformed by jazz music. Two outdoor stages, a merchandise shop, and bars will be set up to welcome a large audience.


Additionally, the Jazz Club Series will be presented in collaboration with several partners in downtown and Old Village (Lac Mercier) Mont-Tremblant.

The Festi Jazz Mont-Tremblant, an annual event, is a must-attend for jazz lovers from all over Quebec and beyond. It is also the only 100% jazz festival dedicated to promoting local artists.

Three Series at the Jazz Lounge Stage


Master Encounters — 11 AM — Jazz Lounge Stage

These workshops are unique moments where artists and the public discuss technique, inspiration, and musical affiliations.


On July 30, drummer Alain Boyer kicks off the festival with an hour of conversation and musical excerpts. On July 31, it will be saxophonist André Leroux, and on August 1, pianist Jean-Michel Pilc. Pianist Marianne Trudel on August 2, and pianist James Gelfand on August 3, will also offer master encounters.


Emerging Jazz Series — 1 PM — Jazz Lounge Stage

This series highlights young Quebec jazz musicians.


Wednesday, July 30 — PARALLAXE — The group inaugurates this series. It features Enya Lemoine on vocals, Samuel Thériault on guitar, Antoine Gagné on bass, and Kévyn-Mark Jomphe Lévesque on drums.


Thursday, July 31 — NICOLAS BOND QUARTET — The quartet presents its compositions and revisited standards. Nicolas Bond is on double bass, Simone Leblanc on saxophone, Antoine Piché on guitar, and Kulusé Souriant on drums.


Friday, August 1 — GABRIEL AUDET BOURGAULT QUINTET — This talented guitarist offers his repertoire of compositions and standards, accompanied by his collaborators. Gabriel Audet-Bourgault is on guitar, Jeremy Sandfelder on tenor saxophone, Ludovic Rochon on piano, Alex Leblanc on double bass, and Baptiste Lejeune on drums.


Saturday, August 2 — QUICKSILVER SEXTET — A formation composed of Florence Tousignant on trumpet, Esteban Montaña Martinez on guitar, Arian Aghajan on double bass, Frieda Mestinsek on drums, Yuanlong Jiang on tenor saxophone, and Charles Saumier-Watson on trombone.


Sunday, August 3 — ÉLIZABETH CORMIER QUARTET — This quartet, formed by Élizabeth Cormier on vocals, Thomas Andersen on piano, Juno Hamilton on double bass, and Ryan Bennett on drums, closes the Emerging Jazz series.


Jazz Lounge Series — 3 PM — Jazz Lounge Stage

This series features professional groups from all diverse jazz styles.

Wednesday, July 30 — CHARLOTTE DÉSILETS QUINTET — The talented singer launches this series with Matys Colpron on drums, Sam Ripat on double bass, Sam Fortin on piano, and Maude Fortier on saxophone.


Thursday, July 31 — PARA SIEMPRE PLAYS CHICK COREA — This group from the Quebec City region presents a tribute to pianist Chick Corea: Enya Lemoine on vocals, Yves Nadeau on guitar, Martin Bournival on keyboard, Jean Dufour on drums, and Bernard Dionne on double bass.


Friday, August 1 — LOU BOUSTANI MANOUCHE TRIO — The guitarist takes the audience on a journey into the world of Django Reinhardt and swing music. He is accompanied by Bernard Épaud on guitar and Jean-Sébastien Clément on double bass.


Saturday, August 2 — MICHEL MORISSETTE QUARTET — The excellent guitarist from the Laurentians performs pieces from his latest album, with the collaboration of Aron Doyle on trumpet, Serge Dionne on bass, and Magella Cormier on drums.


Sunday, August 3 — TRIO BRASIL — To conclude the Jazz Lounge series, this Laurentian group transports festival-goers to Brazil by performing bossa-nova tunes. Raoul Cyr is on bass, Richard Leduc on saxophone, and Bernard Ouellette on drums.

Promutuel Assurance Jazz Extra Series — 7 PM — Main Stage

This series showcases the best jazz trios from the Quebec scene every evening.


Wednesday, July 30 — PROVOST – LACHAPELLE – BOYER — These three renowned musicians from the Laurentians offer their original compositions. Sylvain Provost is on guitar, Normand Lachapelle on bass, and Alain Boyer on drums.

Thursday, July 31 — DAVID GAUTHIER TRIO — The excellent Laurentian guitarist invites people to discover his compositions and jazz standards, accompanied by Jérôme Chamberland on drums and Pascal Andrus on bass.


Friday, August 1 — JEAN-MICHEL PILC TRIO — Self-taught pianist and composer Jean-Michel Pilc has built a solid international reputation. He has performed with many jazz giants, including Roy Haynes, Michael Brecker, Marcus Miller, Kenny Garrett, Lenny White, and Chris Potter. He is accompanied by Mason Jeffery-Off on double bass and Samuel Joly on drums.


Saturday, August 2 — JAMES GELFAND TRIO — Pianist James Gelfand, a composer and multiple Juno Award winner, is highly respected by critics, jazz musicians, and in the film industry. He is accompanied by Normand Lachapelle on bass and Magella Cormier on drums.

Sunday, August 3 — ISABELLA HALLIA QUARTET — With a lyrical, warm, and resonant voice, Isabella Hallia has performed in several venues and festivals in Canada and the United States. She shares her passion for jazz with festival-goers, alongside guitarist Yur Yesli, bassist Alex Le Blanc, and drummer Baptiste Lejeune.

Desjardins Jazz Under the Stars Series — 9 PM — Main Stage

The festival’s main series features the stars of Quebec and Canadian jazz.


Wednesday, July 30 — Opening Concert — BATHYSCAPHE

Ivanhoe Jolicoeur offers jazz of great precision and remarkable clarity, immersing the listener in carefully sculpted soundscapes. The musical atmospheres of his work evolve from calm to turbulent, always offering a clear vision through which the artist reveals himself.

Yvanhoe Jolicoeur, on trumpet, is accompanied by Yves Adam on tenor saxophone, Marc Tremblay on trombone, Serge Dionne on bass, Éric St-Jean on piano, and Daniel Lemay on drums.


Thursday, July 31 — ANDRÉ LEROUX QUARTET

Saxophonist, clarinetist, and flutist, André Leroux is a versatile musician. His many collaborations have led him to perform all over the world. He is considered one of the best saxophonists in Canada. With a sound described as raw, warm, sharp, and explosive, André Leroux is a master in exploring all facets of his instrument.

André Leroux is accompanied by Fred Henke on piano, Frédéric Alarie on double bass, and Camil Bélisle on drums.


Friday, August 1 — CHARLES ELLISON QUINTET

Since his arrival in Montreal in 1975, Charles Ellison has distinguished himself as director of music education and performance. He was an assistant professor at Concordia and McGill universities in the mid-1970s. He was also appointed a full-time professor at Concordia in 1980. Charles Ellison is a renowned trumpeter and composer in North America. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with an impressive number of artists and organizations, including Marvin Gaye, Cannonball Adderley, Barbara Hunter, Henry Mancini, Johnny Mathis, Oliver Jones, Billy Taylor, I Musici de Montréal, and the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal.

Charles Ellison, on trumpet, is accompanied by Ira Coleman on double bass, Al McLean on tenor saxophone, Wali Muhammad on drums, and Josh Rager on piano.


Saturday, August 2 — 18th Edition Grand Event — MARIANNE TRUDEL TRIO

Energetic and prolific, Marianne Trudel has a highly active career, both locally and abroad, giving concerts solo, in small ensembles, or with orchestras. She has presented her music in many countries around the world, including the United States, Mexico, France, Spain, Germany, England, Scotland, Italy, and China. Recipient of numerous awards and accolades, she has released ten albums of original works, all of which have received rave reviews (JUNO Awards finalist, ADISQ, Opus Prize). Marianne Trudel’s music, which transports and moves, cannot be categorized, which is one of its strengths. Poetic and bold, sophisticated and catchy, authentic and unique, her work testifies to her open view of the infinite universe of music.

Marianne Trudel, on piano, is accompanied by Rémi-Jean Leblanc on double bass and Louis-Vincent Hamel on drums.


Sunday, August 3 — Closing Concert — DONALD DOGBO

Donald Dogbo is a Montreal-based artist and drummer from Ivory Coast, heir to a lineage of drummer-composers on his grandfather’s side. A true percussion virtuoso, he stands out for his ability to fuse traditional African rhythms with the energy of modern jazz, creating a musical signature that is both vibrant and innovative.

His mastery of groove, boundless creativity, and stage charisma captivate audiences worldwide. Named Radio-Canada’s Jazz Revelation in 2024, Dogbo aims to bring his musical universe across Quebec, Canada, and beyond. With his music, he doesn’t just play rhythms: he tells stories and builds bridges between cultures.

Donald Dogbo, on drums and vocals, is accompanied by Alex Francoeur on saxophone, Rémi Cormier on trumpet, Elli Miller-Maboungou on percussion, Christian Obam on bass, and Willy Javier Soto Barreto on piano.


JAZZ CLUB Series — Daily programming at cultural venues

In collaboration with our loyal partners, several concerts are presented daily throughout the festival. They highlight small jazz ensembles presented free of charge in several Mont-Tremblant establishments.
