Your national driving license is valid if you are from GCC countries ( Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia) and some other countries that are as follows:

United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and turkey.

You need an international driving license as well if you are not from one of those countries. Also, the countries list may update so you should also try checking the updated list of countries from the RTA official website.

What is the cost of renting a car in Dubai?

The cost of a rental car depends on different factors like what car you are going to choose, the trip duration, etc. If you are going to drive an economical car it will cost you less but if you want to book a luxury or supercar it will cost more. Also, you can rent a car for your desired period like on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. So, choose your car according to your budget and your trip duration to save extra pennies. Security deposit and its refund duration

Almost all rental car companies charge some security deposit from your credit or debit card. This is to account for any kind of accident, fines, or trolls. Usually, it starts from 400 to 1500 Dirhams. For the super exotic cars, you have to pay more security fees but again, it is completely refundable. The refund duration varies and it takes 15 to 29 days to make sure that all fines are recorded and paid on time. Don’t try to exceed the speed limit or park at the restricted areas to avoid fines.

You need all the above-mentioned documents and security fee to rent a car in Dubai. Along with that, many car rental companies offer standard car insurance. Play it safe and ask the companies if the charges are inclusive of insurance charges because most of them don’t offer full coverage insurance.
