Montreal Canadiens 2019 training camp begins

The Montreal Canadiens announced on Tuesday that 57 players will participate in their 2019 training camp.

Players will report for physicals and medical exams at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard on Thursday, September 12.

The first on-ice session will take place at the Bell Sports Complex on Friday, September 13 at 10:00 a.m.

The list of players invited to training camp includes six goaltenders, 18 defensemen and 33 forwards.

12 players released from rookie camp

The Canadiens completed their rookie camp on Tuesday in Brossard with a game against an All-Star team from three Quebec universities (Concordia, Trois-Rivières and McGill). Later in the day, six players were reassigned to their respective Junior teams: Cole Fonstad (Prince Albert – WHL), Rafaël Harvey-Pinard (Chicoutimi – QMJHL), Cameron Hillis (Guelph – OHL), Samuel Houde (Chicoutimi – QMJHL), Jacob LeGuerrier (Sault Ste. Marie – OHL), and Allan McShane (Oshawa – OHL). Six players were also released from camp: Marc-Olivier Crevier-Morin (PTO), and five invited players (ATO); Nicolas Guay, Vincent Marleau, Dylan Plouffe, Jack York and Alexis Shank.

Red vs. White scrimmage at the Bell Centre

In preparation for the team’s pre-season schedule, the Canadiens invite all fans to attend the Red vs White scrimmage on Sunday, September 15 at the Bell Centre. Puck drop is at 1:00 p.m.
