Pivot your life and business with life coach Sonia Zarbatany

These days, people need that extra bit of push or motivation in order to obtain the necessary skills that will help them achieve the goals they want to achieve in their lives, careers or in running a business. That’s why life coaches have been much sought after recently like coach Sonia Zarbatany.

Sonia Zarbatany is herself a life and business coach, and a very successful one. And when she takes on a client, whether it be individually or in a group, she has a specific approach to how she can bring the right amount of life-changing inspiration, motivation and next steps to achieve tangible results in her client’s lives.

Coach Sonia

The #CoachSonia way is life coaching and business consulting. We as coaches aren’t supposed to give a game plan; instead, we dig deep to see what’s stopping someone from achieving their goals, and help them shift to what is possible for them,” she said in a recent phone interview. “So my way of coaching is to add the consulting when it comes to business. As a business consultant, I make sure that the client never leaves without having the next steps they need to get what they want in life. The coaching journey is one of shifting limiting beliefs as well as action-focused and result-oriented.”

Ms. Zarbatany was born in Casablanca, Morocco and immigrated to Montreal when she was three years old. During her younger years, she would spend her spare time in the offices of her father’s business Zarby Inc., a fashion house that distributed such high-end labels as Guess Jeans and Vince Camuto, and quickly familiarized herself on how to scale a fashion brand and what she needed to know regarding the ins and outs of the fashion industry.

“Since I was eight years old, I would always visit my father’s office. In fact, I was practically raised in the fashion business; I was always the first person in and the last person to leave,” she said. “And throughout that time, I learned every single area of the Fashion business, such as new brands, marketing, sales, distribution and solving complex issues, as well as how a business grows and the empowerment of a team in order to lead the industry.”

Coach Sonia and her children

By the time she graduated from university, Ms. Zarbatany, who was already an accomplished athlete in horseback riding, snowboarding, basketball, waterskiing and fitness, didn’t want to have the label “daughter of…” attached to her, so at the age of 23, she decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting.

“I wanted to pave my own way, so when I finished getting my degree, I immediately moved to L.A. because I thought I had a passion for acting. I actually got casted on a TV show and I loved every minute of it,” she said. “But during my time there, I developed a deep desire to create impact in the lives of other people, so I became obsessed with personal development, coaching and speaking and discovered that my gift was to help people discover their gift and live their best lives.”

By the time, Sonia returned to Montreal, she began to build her career as a life coach and speaker. Before the COVID-19 pandemic caused a worldwide lockdown, Sonia hit the global stage with her speaking events, life and business coaching, seminars, events and retreats that reached out to audiences in Canada, the U.S., South Africa, Australia and England. She developed online webinars and online classes and programs to reach the global market by launching “Pitch Yourself in One Minute”, “Pivot Your Business”, “Create Your Business Plan” and “Plan Your Week in 20 Minutes”.

On March 1 of last year, she opened “Le Tribe”, a 9000-square foot office where people can utilize the space for events, co-working purposes, coaching classes or media projects. On March 9, she left with a group of 21 people for her #CoachSoniaRetreat retreat in Morocco, and was in the midst of hosting the retreat when the pandemic lockdown began. From that point on, Ms. Zarbatany’s unexpected situation became the embodiment of her “Pivot Your Business” program.

“When COVID hit, we were stuck; when the group of 21 and I returned to Montreal, I found out that the Le Tribe office was closed, but instead of mourning the loss, I became hungrier than ever,” she said. “That’s when I decided to turn Coach Sonia to virtual coaching and events, online classes and pivoted my Le Tribe space into an online and media agency that offeres complete media, content or social media creation. In a short time, Sonia spoke to over 90,000 people through Zoom classes and events. And Le Tribe Media took content creation to new heights using drones, brand experiences and media production. This pivot enabled us to keep the office space, impact globally, work with incredible clients for content and media production and position the team to be ready to help and welcome our Montreal community and the world.

Ms. Zarbatany realizes that the pandemic has hit society hard with a destabilizing force that has led to such effects as higher divorce rates and an unexpected change of mindset. However, she has not lost sight of her original intent as an acclaimed life coach that impacts “I will always be there for people, my mission is to stand for people. To inspire them, motivate them, cheer for them and help them create the life they deserve. Creating a community that empowers each other and that is resilient is my greatest value.. Impact and sharing tools to help lead the next generation is what drives me to share on my social media every day…”
