As part of the $200-million revitalization project of the Place Ville Marie Esplanade, Montreal foodies will soon be able to enjoy a brand-new food concept in the heart of downtown.

A gourmet biergarten is schedule to open in 2019 at the renown Place Ville-Marie. Named Cathcart Restaurants & Biergarten, this major open-air food area is a creation of Sid Lee Architecture and A5 Hospitality (Hà, Jatoba, Kampai Garden).

The new space will be open seven days a week, all year round. With 35,000-square-foot (3,252-square-metre) of “food” space, the future glass pavilion of the Place Ville Marie Esplanade will certainly be the new happening place downtown Montreal. The restaurant area will offer seating for more than a thousand people with 15 unique restaurant concepts, such as resto-bars, bistros and cafes, including three restaurants with table service. The chef’s line up hasn’t been totally revealed, but it includes Antonio Park, who has been part of the A5 team for a while now. Renown sommeliers and mixologists will also be part of the massive food project.
