YUL EAT gardens

Festival YUL EAT, presented by evenko, is proud to announce the return of the YUL EAT Gardens during three of the most popular festivals of the summer!

Like last year, festival-goers attending Osheaga, ’77 Montreal and Heavy Montreal, all taking place at Parc Jean-Drapeau soon, will have access to high-quality food in the YUL EAT Gardens zone.

Music lovers will once again get to enjoy signature dishes from 5 iconic Montreal restaurants. Each kiosk will be furnished like a small restaurant with a large terrace, where festival-goers can take a lunch break and grab a bite with some friends, while comfortably seated.

It’s already been three years since this Amherst Street establishment introduced its delicious updated Haitian cuisine, which is cooked with care and imagination by chef Paul Toussaint. Their acras, cod chiktay, griot, and whole fried fish quickly made their reputation, as did their rum koktels! On the menu: griot, grilled chicken, seafood skewers, ribs & more!

’77 Montreal: Friday, July 26, 2019

Heavy Montreal: Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28, 2019

Osheaga: from Friday, August 2 to Sunday, August 4, 2019

Festival YUL EAT will take place from September 9 to 15, 2019 in the Quartier des spectacles.

Agrikol (Haitian cuisine)This year, the participating establishments are:

  • Venice (Californian cuisine) – at Osheaga only

Because he wanted to bring the healthy, sunny cuisine of Venice Beach to Montreal, Charles Manceau opened his first restaurant in Old Montreal in 2016. It was so successful that he opened a second address downtown the next year. It’s the place to go to enjoy some of the best poke bowls, tacos, salads, toasts, power bowls, and flat bread pizzas in town in a bright, colourful space. On the menu: poke bowls, tacos, salads, smoothie bowls & more!

  • Street Monkeys (Cambodian tapas)

This cozy restaurant opened in 2017 on Wellington Street in Verdun, showcasing the authentic flavours of Cambodia. Owners Tota Oung, William Kit and Sihour Kong serve tapas that include Laotian and Thai elements, such as egg rolls, squid, shrimp ceviche, beef laab, amok fish, and Khmer skewers. On the menu: fried papaya salad, chicken skewers with Khmer spices & more!

  • Foodchain (fresh salads)

Reinventing fast food with vegetables leading the charge? This is the successful gamble of the collective behind Foodchain, led by chefs Charles-Antoine Crête and Cheryl Johnson (Montreal Plaza). Since 2017, the popularity of this McGill Street establishment renowned for its ultra-fresh, made-to-order, healthy and tasty salad combinations has remained undeniable. On the menu: beet & apple salad with chickpeas, cauliflower & mushroom salad with quinoa & more!

  • Grumman’78 (Mexican cuisine)

Festive, friendly, affordable: this popular Saint-Henri restaurant is all that, in addition to serving some of the best tacos in the city! In the kitchen, chef Sebastien Harrison Cloutier takes inspiration from all around the world: jicama salad; smoked meat, halloumi, cod acra, grilled beef tongue, or fried chicken & mole tacos. Their food truck pioneered the street food revival in Montreal! On the menu: tacos, tacos & more tacos!
