CAVALE is out September 26, Interntaional tour begins in Quebec at Festival Innu Nikamu
MONTREAL, July 3, 2025 – Following Coeur de pirate’s exciting return from a three-year hiatus with the announcement of her seventh studio album Cavale, out September 26 via her label Bravo Music, and the release of its title-track single, she now unveils an enchanting second single – the lush, choral-driven track “Château de sable,” out today.
With her signature lyrical finesse, Cœur de pirate weaves multi-layered meaning into every line through vivid, evocative language. “Château de sable” is a prime example, conjuring themes of absence, parting, heartbreak, and mourning. Built around a steady, soothing piano melody and sumptuous choral arrangements, the track is paired with a dreamlike video that mirrors its opulent, yet understated tone; seated at a white piano in a space adorned with flowers and candles, Cœur de pirate performs in a setting that feels both lavish and intimate.
Translated lyrics from the new single
But you won’t let me in
Your sandcastle
Its walls rise and crumble
At the slightest breeze
Yet I know that deep down
You’re like a towering cathedral
[translation]
Written and composed by Béatrice Martin, “Château de sable” was produced by Nicolas Subrechicot. Subrechicot also contributed piano, organ, synthesizers, programming and backing vocals, with Renaud Bastien on guitar, and Félix-Antoine Beaudoin on drums. Recording took place at Studios d’en face in Paris with Sébastien Salis and Florent Livet, and at Studio Bravo in Montreal with Bastien. Mixing was handled by Florent Livet, assisted by Loïc Grenouillet, and mastering was done by Chab.

“Château de sable” offers a second glimpse into Cavale, the seventh album from Cœur de pirate. Blending elegant pop melodies with introspective lyrics that explore the complexities of anxiety, the project reflects a bold creative vision. An eight-time Félix Award winner and Victoire de la Musique recipient, Cœur de pirate returns after time away from the spotlight, dedicated to both her family and her work as president and artistic director of Bravo Musique, ready to once again captivate and surprise audiences.
