Montreal is getting Brand New E-Scooters in Parc Jean-Drapeau

Lime relaunches e-scooter program in Parc Drapeau

MONTREAL, QC July 3, 2025 – Lime, the world’s leading provider of shared electric vehicles, is back in Parc Jean-Drapeau for the 2025 summer season with a full fleet of its cutting-edge Gen4 e-scooters.

Safe, affordable. sustainable transportation in Montreal

Building on last year’s success, Lime once again is providing a safe, affordable, and sustainable transportation solution for visitors as part of the island park’s micromobility service. Since the initiative launched, over 22,000 riders have taken nearly 31,000 trips on Lime vehicles, collectively saving approximately 60,705 kilograms of CO₂ and contributing to the sustainability objectives of the Société du Parc Jean-Drapeau (SPJD).

“We are delighted to welcome Lime back to Parc Jean-Drapeau for summer 2025, a partnership that aligns perfectly with our desire to make the Park an urban playground that is accessible, sustainable, and resolutely forward-looking. With its world-class sports facilities, diverse cultural programming, and breathtaking landscapes, the park invites adventure in all its forms. The addition of electric scooters enriches this experience by offering visitors a new, dynamic, and fun way to discover the richness of our islands, at their own pace,” explained Véronique Doucet, Director General of the SPJD.

“After a successful previous season, we’ve listened to feedback and are excited to be back for 2025, ready to deliver a service with a strong emphasis on safety, tidiness, and community engagement. Our shared e-scooters offer a safe, sustainable, and affordable way to get around, helping support public transit and create greener spaces. Parc Jean-Drapeau is leading the way in sustainable transportation, and we’re proud to support Montreal’s bold climate and mobility goals,” said Sonia Kandola, Senior Director of Government Relations for Lime Canada.

Safety is a Priority

This year, Lime has made several improvements based on community feedback, working with partners to strengthen rider education and encourage better practices, particularly concerning parking. As the season progresses, Lime will launch new campaigns to promote safe riding and responsible use of the scooters for an even more enjoyable experience.

For the SPJD, the safety of all users and harmonious coexistence on mobility paths are also priorities. To this end, Park employees, recognizable by their distinctive uniform, as well as cadets from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), will patrol by bike all summer across the islands to inform and educate users about proper practices.

Renewed Partnerships

Last year, Lime collaborated with the SPJD and its partners, associating with several well-established major events such as Osheaga, ÎleSoniq, and LASSO. This partnership allowed festival-goers to move safely and sustainably throughout the Park.

A Renewed Presence in Parc Jean-Drapeau

Lime is one of the largest shared electric vehicle providers in Canada, operating in the country since 2018. Riders in Montreal join cities across Canada in this trend of decarbonizing transportation, where nationwide more than 1.4 million riders have taken nearly 7.3 million trips on Lime e-scooters and e-bikes.

Sustainablility

In Canada Lime is hiring and partnering with the people who know each city best. Lime recently partnered with Canadian company Cyclic Materials to recycle scooter motors, further reducing its environmental impact and supporting a circular economy. After building a strong foundation in its first year, Lime is committed to growing and improving its program in Parc Jean-Drapeau.
